QB Trevor Lawrence Focusing on Footwork, Eyes and Has Full Buy-In at Jaguars 2025 Training Camp

Trevor Lawrence expressed optimism and confidence following the first practice of the Jacksonville Jaguars' 2025 training camp. He spoke positively about the new season, new head coach Liam Coen, and the new offensive system, stating, "I have a lot of confidence and belief in what we're doing and that we're doing it the right way." Lawrence felt the day went well.

Lawrence reported being fully healthy (100%) entering camp after missing seven games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury and concussion. He underwent season-ending surgery on his non-throwing (left) shoulder in December. He described feeling physically better than he has "in a long time" and acknowledged that the injury absence gave him a greater appreciation for the game, making him reflect on preparation and his approach moving forward.

During his shoulder rehabilitation, Lawrence fully participated in the offseason program, focusing intensely on learning Coen's offense and mastering the necessary footwork, which is crucial for timing and reading progressions in the scheme. Coach Coen praised Lawrence's performance on the first day, calling him "pretty clean in a lot of ways" and noting he's "taken to" the footwork emphasis. Coen also highlighted the importance of using eyes as a "weapon" independently of footwork to manipulate defenses and stated Lawrence has progressed well in this area too.
