Real Madrid open to selling three players this summer – with doubts about two others

Real Madrid are prioritizing player sales as their squad currently stands at 25 players following summer additions including Dean Huijsen, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Franco Mastantuono, and Alvaro Carreras. The club desires to sign a new midfielder, but this move is contingent on at least one departure occurring in the coming weeks.

Rodrygo Goes is a leading candidate for departure, having been strongly linked with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid will consider offers for the 24-year-old forward, who has struggled for prominence under manager Xabi Alonso.

Additionally, Real Madrid are open to offers for at least two other first-team players: Ferland Mendy and David Alaba. Mendy has become the odd man out after Carreras' arrival, with Fran Garcia preferred as competition for the new signing. Alaba is now fifth in the centre-back hierarchy behind Huijsen, Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao, and Raul Asencio, with club officials concerned about his recent injury record. While his contract expires next summer, an earlier exit is possible.

The situation regarding Dani Ceballos is also uncertain. A return to Real Betis has been speculated, but he is currently part of Alonso's plans. However, his status could change if a new midfielder is signed before the end of the summer transfer window.

Doubts also surround Endrick Felipe's role. His playing time is expected to be reduced next season if he stays, as Alonso plans to use Kylian Mbappe and Gonzalo Garcia as his primary striker options. The Brazilian teenager, who prefers to stay, faces the prospect of another season with limited minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu.
