Real Madrid superstar aiming to be at 100% fitness for Atletico Madrid clash

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has returned to the squad after a two-month absence due to shoulder surgery, making the team list for the UEFA Champions League match against Marseille. Although he did not play in that game, his recovery has been faster than initially anticipated, which was not expected until October.

Bellingham's current focus is to achieve full fitness in time for the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid on September 27. Manager Xabi Alonso aims to have him fully fit and ready to play a decisive role in that match. To help him regain match rhythm, the plan is to gradually introduce him in upcoming games against RCD Espanyol and Levante.

Under previous manager Carlo Ancelotti, Bellingham was used primarily as an attacking midfielder. However, Alonso views him as more of an interior midfielder and intends to deploy him in a deeper role than before at Real Madrid.
