Inter Milan are working to sell defender Zinho Vanheusden within the next two weeks, according to reports from FCInterNews. The Belgian player has not reported for preseason training, and the club is collaborating with his agents to find a resolution.
Vanheusden, originally signed by Inter from Standard Liege in 2015 with high expectations, was loaned back to Standard before being sold permanently. Inter exercised a buyback clause in 2021, but subsequent loan spells to Genoa and AZ Alkmaar were severely hampered by injuries, including a broken foot suffered at AZ. A 2023 loan return to Standard Liege provided a period of relative fitness and playing time, but the club opted not to sign him permanently. His most recent loan to Mechelen last summer was again disrupted by injuries, resulting in minimal appearances.
Once considered a potential regular for Belgium, the 25-year-old now has no realistic prospect of playing for Inter. Despite being under contract with Inter until 2025 (a deal signed upon his return in 2021), the club is actively seeking to facilitate his permanent departure soon.
