Francesco Acerbi intends to remain at Inter Milan for the final year of his contract, despite the club deciding not to offer him a new deal due to his age (37), even though he has been in impressive form.
Inter Milan will not pay a €500,000 termination fee to release Acerbi this summer and plan to keep the veteran defender for the upcoming season. Acerbi himself is content to stay at San Siro for another year.
Manager Simone Inzaghi, who is moving to Al-Hilal, has decided against signing Acerbi for the Saudi club. Furthermore, while there has been some interest from the Premier League, it reportedly comes only from newly promoted Sunderland and not a top club, and Acerbi has no interest in leaving Italy.
