Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to be joined by compatriot João Félix at Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, with Chelsea agreeing to sell Félix in a deal worth up to €50 million. The transfer includes an initial €30 million fee plus significant add-ons and a sell-on clause, with Félix granted permission to undergo a medical.
Félix's permanent move to Chelsea last summer proved unsuccessful, mirroring his underwhelming loan spell at Stamford Bridge during the latter half of the 2022-23 season. His departure paves the way for a reunion with Ronaldo, who has been at Al-Nassr since January 2023.
Reports indicate Ronaldo is now targeting another Chelsea player, Marc Cucurella, to follow Félix to the Middle Eastern club. Spanish journalist José Félix Díaz claims Al-Nassr's interest in the Spanish left-back stems directly from Ronaldo's desire to recruit him.
Cucurella joined Chelsea in 2022 for over £60 million from Brighton and has developed into a key figure under manager Enzo Maresca. Despite initial adaptation challenges, the 27-year-old is now settled in London, holds a contract until 2028, and is a regular starter described by Maresca as "a smart player and one of the main characters in the locker room."
However, Cucurella's departure is considered highly unlikely. Chelsea's recent successes—including Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs plus Champions League qualification—alongside Cucurella's integral role and Maresca's public praise following his standout performance in the Club World Cup final, strongly suggest he will remain at Stamford Bridge despite Ronaldo's interest.
