Report Man United make opening offer for Juventus target Hjulmand

Manchester United have reportedly submitted a €40 million offer to sign Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand, entering the competition with Juventus for the player. Juventus have also been heavily linked with the Denmark international, who possesses an €80 million release clause.

According to Calciomercato.com, Sporting CP is open to considering offers around €50 million for Hjulmand. However, the player's representatives are aiming to secure a transfer deal valued between €30 million and €40 million.

The report states that Juventus are prioritizing the sale of midfielder Douglas Luiz before actively pursuing a replacement like Hjulmand. Luiz, who missed the initial days of pre-season training without club authorization, is expected to return to training.

Hjulmand, aged 26, has prior experience in Italian football, having played for Lecce for three seasons (two in Serie B and one in Serie A), making a total of 95 appearances across all competitions for the club.
