Tennessee Basketball is awaiting the arrival of two international signees for the 2025-26 roster: French guard Clarence Massamba (signed in April) and Israeli guard Ethan Burg (signed July 24). Head coach Rick Barnes confirmed both remain overseas playing with their national teams during summer preparations.
Massamba, a 6-foot-5 prospect from AS Monaco Basket, is expected to join when the academic term begins, potentially arriving early. Barnes noted he is completing commitments with France’s national team. In the 2024-25 season, Massamba averaged 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for Espies Monaco (AS Monaco’s U21 team), shooting 44.6% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range.
Burg, a 22-year-old combo guard, faces uncertainty due to ongoing tryouts with Israel’s national team. Barnes indicated Burg must clear one more roster cut within a week; his arrival timeline depends on how far he advances. Burg spent the past two seasons with Bnei Herzliya in Israel, averaging 11.0 points, 2.9 assists, and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 43.2% from the field and 32.9% from beyond the arc. He has three years of NCAA eligibility after receiving clearance.
