Sabrina Ionescu Had Furious Two-Word Message for Ref Before Getting Technical Foul

The New York Liberty suffered a surprising 101-99 home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday night, sealed by a last-second shot from Rickea Jackson. Despite Sabrina Ionescu leading all scorers with 30 points, her performance was overshadowed by a technical foul she received during the game.

In the third quarter, Ionescu made a three-pointer that would have narrowed the gap to one point, but the basket was nullified after officials called an illegal screen on the Liberty. This decision infuriated Ionescu, who was visibly upset and shouted at a referee.

Ionescu demanded a technical foul by repeatedly yelling "Tech me! Tech me!" at the referee, who complied and immediately assessed her with the technical. This incident occurred shortly after the disallowed basket and added to the Liberty's challenges in the game.

With this loss, the Liberty's season record dropped to 17-7, while the Sparks improved to 11-14.
