Scratch That! The Nike Ja 3 Brings the Heat to the Big Apple

Ja Morant is launching two new colorways of his Nike Ja 3 signature sneaker this summer. The sneaker translates his high-energy playing style into bold design, packed with performance technology for modern basketball players.

The first release is the Ja 3 'NY vs NY', available exclusively at Foot Locker's 34th Street flagship store in New York City on Monday, July 21 – one day before the global launch. This exclusive event includes a Pop-A-Shot tournament, live DJ sets, custom giveaways, a photobooth, and a mystery guest appearance. Early purchasers will also receive a special gift.

The second colorway, the Ja 3 'Light Show', releases globally on August 5. It features a crisp white/grey base contrasted with reflective volt-blue and hot-pink Swooshes, plus orange and purple accents on the jagged overlays forming a graffiti-style 'A'. The shoe utilizes full-length ZoomX foam for bounce and has a serrated outsole pattern designed for quick stops.

Design-wise, the Nike Ja 3 features a low-to-the-ground silhouette reflecting Morant's quick first step. It evolves the 'scratch' aesthetic from previous models, exaggerating the claw-mark motif with deeper grooves and sharper cuts on the lateral side.

Technologically, the midsole incorporates full-length ZoomX foam for explosive energy return. The rugged rubber outsole introduces a new grip pattern engineered for stop-and-go movements. The upper combines lightweight mesh with reinforced synthetics for lockdown support without bulk, and a midfoot strap returns for added containment during aggressive play.
