Sightseeing, shopping trips and Diaz’s farewell – Liverpool players’ photos from Japan

Liverpool concluded their time in Japan with a 3-1 friendly victory over Yokohama F. Marinos. Following the match, the team flew back to the UK to resume training at the AXA Training Centre.

With the Premier League season opener against Bournemouth just over two weeks away, Liverpool has two more Anfield friendlies and the Community Shield match scheduled before the campaign begins.

During the tour, manager Arne Slot and his staff conducted rigorous training sessions in challenging heat across Hong Kong and Japan. The squad also participated in various media and community activities.

The trip provided an opportunity for squad bonding, particularly integrating seven new signings: Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Milos Kerkez. Behind-the-scenes photos shared by the squad indicated the new players settled quickly during their time in Tokyo.

Players utilized downtime for shopping, playing Uno, and sightseeing in the popular tourist destination. Notably, while welcoming new faces, Liverpool also saw the departure of key player Luis Diaz shortly after arriving in Tokyo.
