Sparks’ Cameron Brink dealing with apparent ankle injury during Liberty clash

Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink suffered an apparent ankle injury during Tuesday's home game against the New York Liberty at Crypto.com Arena. Brink was observed receiving ankle taping during the second quarter and was notably absent from the bench when the second half began, as reported by journalist Justin Russo on social media.

Brink later returned to the bench with over six minutes remaining in the third quarter, providing an encouraging sign for the team. This injury concern emerges as the 2024 second-overall draft pick continues managing her comeback from a season-ending torn ACL suffered during her rookie year, which limited her to just six games in 2024.

Having made her 2025 season debut in late July against the Las Vegas Aces, Brink entered the Liberty game averaging 7.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.2 steals through six appearances. The Sparks have been carefully monitoring her playing time throughout her recovery process.

Brink joined the Sparks after a standout college career at Stanford, selected immediately after Caitlin Clark in the 2024 WNBA draft. Despite winning four of their last five games prior to facing New York, the Sparks entered Tuesday's contest in ninth place, outside the current playoff positions.
