Bradley Beal has agreed to a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns and plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on a two-year, $11 million deal that includes a player option for next summer, allowing him to become a free agent again.
Before choosing the Clippers, Beal reportedly considered joining the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, or Minnesota Timberwolves, with the latter three teams having extensive recent conversations with him.
Despite Beal's close friendship with Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, a move to Boston was unlikely. Tatum is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season, and the Celtics' financial situation further hindered any potential interest.
Separately, Damian Lillard, recently bought out by the Milwaukee Bucks, has been linked to the Celtics. Reports indicate mutual interest between Lillard and the team, with Tatum actively pitching the nine-time All-Star on joining Boston.
