The WNBA All-Star weekend took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Seattle Storm had four players participating: Skylar Diggins-Smith, Nneka Ogwumike, Gabby Williams, and Erica Williams.
During Saturday's events, the Storm had two players in the Skills Challenge: Skylar Diggins-Smith and Erica Williams. Diggins-Smith finished last in her opening round. Williams advanced to the championship round but lost to Natasha Cloud of the New York Liberty. The Liberty swept the night's events, as Sabrina Ionescu won the 3-Point Contest.
This marked a homecoming for Diggins-Smith, a South Bend, Indiana native. She led her high school to a state title, became Indiana's Miss Basketball, starred at Notre Dame, and was making her 7th All-Star appearance in her 10th WNBA season.
Despite her Saturday performance, Diggins-Smith made history in the All-Star Game. She recorded the first triple-double in WNBA All-Star history with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and a record 15 assists.
Nneka Ogwumike also entered the weekend setting a record. Just before the break, she passed Tina Thompson to become the 4th all-time leading scorer in WNBA history. Ogwumike boasts numerous accolades, including 10 All-Star selections, MVP, Rookie of the Year, and a WNBA championship.
Team Clark defeated Team Wilson 151-131 in the All-Star Game. While Diggins-Smith's historic feat was notable, team captain Napheesa Collier earned MVP honors after scoring 36 points.
The Storm resume their season by hosting the Dallas Wings. Seattle currently holds a 14-9 record, placing them 4th in the Western Conference as they aim for their first title since 2020.
