Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Eric Hinson as a non-executive director to their board, marking the latest change following Daniel Levy's removal from his position in September. This move brings the board back to five members and is part of a series of recent adjustments aimed at restructuring the club's leadership.
Eric Hinson is an American aviation executive with a diverse background, having served as CEO and president of SimCom International, executive vice president of FlightSafety International, and holding board positions at Space Florida and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. Prior to his corporate career, he was a pilot in the US Navy, flying the F/A-18 Hornet, and the club anticipates that his experience in high-pressure corporate and military environments will contribute to Tottenham's ongoing growth and stability.
The new board now consists of non-executive chair Peter Charrington, CEO Vinai Venkatesham, operations and finance director Matthew Collecott, lead independent director Jonathan Turner, and Eric Hinson. This follows a year of significant changes, including the additions of Charrington and Venkatesham earlier in the year, the stepping down of long-standing executive director Donna-Maria Cullen, and the removal of former executive chairman Daniel Levy, who had been with the club for nearly 25 years.
In a statement, Chairman Charrington emphasized that Hinson's expertise will enhance the board's ability to achieve the club's goals, and the club is focusing on stability after a transformative period. The first meeting of the newly configured board was held on September 26, and there are currently no plans to add further members beyond Hinson's appointment.
