Tottenham Hotspur fans are being encouraged to feel excited about Luka Vuskovic, with strong predictions that the 18-year-old will become the team's captain in the future. He joined Spurs shortly after Harry Kane's departure and has already matched Kane's number of appearances for the club since his arrival.

Vuskovic was signed by Tottenham from Hajduk Split in September 2023 on a contract extending until 2030. Due to FIFA regulations concerning overseas players under 18 following the UK's exit from the EU, he did not immediately move to north London and was instead sent on loan to Radomiak Radom in Poland and Westerlo in Belgium to gain experience.

He made a notable impression on Spurs supporters by scoring and providing an assist in his debut during a 2-0 pre-season victory against Reading in July. To further his development, Vuskovic was loaned to Bundesliga side Hamburg, where Martin Jol predicted he could surpass current Spurs defender Cristian Romero in ability.

Just two months into the new campaign, Vuskovic is already being viewed as a long-term successor for the captaincy at Tottenham. European football expert Andy Brassell commented that the move to Hamburg is ideal, as Vuskovic benefits from playing regularly in the Bundesliga and has a family connection through his brother Mario, who was previously with the club, making him feel at home despite Mario's ongoing drugs ban.

Vuskovic faced a tough start at Hamburg, making his debut in a match against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, where his team conceded four goals within the first 29 minutes and ultimately lost 5-0, highlighting a challenging introduction to top-level football.
