Tottenham’s Hayley Raso in talks with Benfica after just one year at the Women’s Super League club

Benfica is reportedly in talks to sign Australian winger Hayley Raso from Tottenham Hotspur. Raso, 30, is approaching the final year of her contract with the London club, which she joined from Real Madrid last year.

Raso experienced a difficult season at Tottenham, as the team struggled significantly in the Women's Super League, finishing 11th out of 12 teams. While talks between Benfica and Tottenham are ongoing according to The Athletic, an agreement for the transfer has not yet been reached.

Raso joined Tottenham ahead of the 2024-25 season. Prior to that, she played for Real Madrid during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring four goals in 28 appearances. She also had previous spells in the Women's Super League with Everton and Manchester City, winning the league title with Manchester City in 2022.
