NBA stars Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton both suffered devastating Achilles injuries during the playoffs, leading to their teams' elimination. Tatum sustained his injury in May during the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks, while Haliburton's injury occurred during Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Both players are currently rehabilitating from their injuries and aiming to return to the court next season, though a potential return might not occur until the 2026-27 campaign.
Despite being Eastern Conference rivals, Haliburton revealed during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that he and Tatum have maintained communication throughout the summer while recovering. Haliburton expressed strong admiration for Tatum, stating "I have nothing bad to say about Jayson Tatum. That’s my guy. I love him," and confirmed they have been talking, saying "Yeah, we’ve been talking. Of course. We’re going through the same thing."
