Vengeful La Salle gets one back vs UST to force triple tie at no. 2 in UAAP Season 88

The DLSU Green Archers have reversed their early-season struggles by winning three consecutive games, including a significant revenge victory over UST in their UAAP Season 88 men's basketball second-round matchup. After losing three of their first five games, this winning streak marks a strong comeback for the team.

In the game held on Saturday, October 25, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, DLSU secured an 86-77 win over UST, fending off a late rally to extend their streak. JC Macalalag led the Green Archers with a team-high 18 points, while Jacob Cortez contributed 12 points and four assists. UST's Collins Akowe recorded a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Gelo Crisostomo added 15 points in the losing effort.

Key moments included UST narrowing DLSU's 22-point lead to six points late in the game, but EJ Gollena responded with crucial three-pointers, including one with 43 seconds left that sealed the victory for DLSU. This performance helped DLSU improve their record to 5-3, tying them for second place with defending champion UP and UST in the standings.

Looking ahead, DLSU will face the winless UE Red Warriors in a midweek game on Wednesday, October 29, at the same venue, while UST aims to rebound against the Adamson Soaring Falcons on the same day and location.
