Vissel Kobe 1–3 Barcelona: Player Ratings As Rashford Makes Bow in Friendly Win

Barcelona began their preseason with a 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe in Japan on Sunday. The match had been in doubt earlier in the week due to what Barcelona considered a contract breach by the promoter, but the issues were resolved, allowing the La Liga champions to travel to Japan on Friday.

Manager Hansi Flick fielded a strong starting lineup. Lamine Yamal, now wearing the number 10 shirt, was prominent early on, creating several chances. He set up captain Raphinha for a header saved by Vissel Kobe goalkeeper Daiya Maekawa. Despite Vissel Kobe's high pressing, Barcelona controlled the first half through Gavi and Pedri in midfield. Their dominance led to an opening goal from Eric García via a scrappy set-piece situation.

However, Barcelona conceded towards the end of the first half after Pau Cubarsí lost possession. Vissel Kobe equalized through top scorer Taisei Miyashiro, despite an initial good save from debutant goalkeeper Joan García.

Flick made 11 changes at halftime, introducing an entirely new team for the second half. This included Marcus Rashford, making his debut on loan from Manchester United, who played on the left wing but couldn't find a finishing touch. Instead, another debutant, Roony Bardghji, scored the winning goal for Barcelona with a curling effort that substitute goalkeeper Shota Arai couldn't stop.

Barcelona confirmed their victory near full-time when La Masia graduate Pedro Fernández drilled home a half-volley from the edge of the box.
