Stephen Curry discussed his approach to the end of his NBA career during an interview with Complex's Speedy Morman. The 37-year-old Golden State Warriors star stated he is currently evaluating his career "in two-year chunks." Curry emphasized his desire to eventually reach a point where he feels he has maximized his potential in the game and can retire on his own terms while still healthy, saying he wants to be able to say, "I’m good." However, he explicitly clarified, "I’m nowhere close to that, though." When Morman asked, "So we got some more years from you?" Curry confirmed, "For sure."
Curry remains under contract with the Warriors for the next two seasons. Last season, he demonstrated his continued elite performance, averaging 24.5 points per game and shooting 39.7% from three-point range across 70 games. His performance earned him a spot on the All-NBA Second Team, his eleventh All-Star selection, and a ninth-place finish in MVP voting.
Curry will be 39 years old when his current contract expires in the summer of 2027. The report suggests there is potential for him to extend his career into his forties if he maintains his health, noting that his playing style relies less on pure athleticism compared to players like LeBron James, who is currently playing beyond age 40.
