Western Americana to Auction at PBA Galleries

PBA Galleries will host a Western Americana auction titled "Gold Rushers, God-Fearers, Gunslingers and Anglers" on September 25. The sale features a diverse range of items including Western County Histories, such as the rare 1879 Yolo county history, early California promotional pamphlets, Mormon material, and angling tales by Zane Grey.

Notable highlights from the auction include Paul Landacre’s "California Hills and Other Wood Engravings," over 30 selections from the Zamorano 80 list, and various fishing titles by Zane Grey. Among these are "An American Angler in Australia," inscribed to his friend and cameraman Gus Bagnard, and "Adventures of a Deep Sea Angler," which he may have ghostwritten.
