Canadian airline WestJet has signed an interline agreement with Panamanian flag carrier Copa Airlines, enabling passengers to book connecting flights between the two carriers' networks.
Starting December 13, WestJet will operate nonstop flights four times per week between Calgary and Panama City, Copa Airlines' main hub.
This partnership allows WestJet passengers to connect via Panama City to 37 destinations across Central and South America served by Copa, while Copa passengers gain access to WestJet's North American network.
According to John Weatherill, WestJet's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, the agreement enhances travel options for both leisure and business travelers, providing convenient access to popular sun destinations and major South American markets.
Copa Airlines serves numerous countries from Panama City including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, while WestJet primarily operates within North America and the Caribbean with some long-haul services to Europe.
