There are 12 former Phoenix Suns players already inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, with several current players potentially joining them. Devin Booker, considered one of the franchise's best players, is a strong candidate but needs to further enhance his resume to secure a place.
ESPN analyst Zach Kram recently categorized current NBA stars by their Hall of Fame prospects, placing Booker in the fifth group labeled "29-year-olds on the edge," alongside players like Jalen Brunson and Donovan Mitchell. Kram noted Booker's consistency and high career scoring through age 28, ranking 10th historically, but highlighted his limited All-NBA selections and challenging team situation. He suggested Booker could develop a Hall of Fame case similar to DeMar DeRozan, with accumulated points outweighing other shortcomings.
Booker and the Suns continue to pursue the team's first championship, which could bolster his legacy. Maintaining his current scoring pace would make it difficult to exclude him from the Hall of Fame. He is already the Suns' all-time leading scorer, and ending his career as a Hall of Fame lock is a plausible outcome.
According to Basketball Reference, Booker currently has a 6.12% probability of making the Hall of Fame, indicating a need for more individual achievements. In contrast, former Suns players Kevin Durant and Chris Paul, both still active, are considered locks for induction, with Basketball Reference assigning them a 100% probability due to their illustrious careers and inclusion in the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team.
