WNBA superstar A'ja Wilson debuts 'AKA' Nike A'One PE against Minnesota Lynx

The WNBA's Friday night showcase featured a game between the Las Vegas Aces, led by reigning MVP A'ja Wilson, and the Minnesota Lynx, led by reigning Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier.

A'ja Wilson debuted a special "AKA" colorway of her Nike A'One signature sneakers during the game. This design honors her membership in the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority, the first historically African-American sorority, founded on January 15, 1908. Wilson was a member during her time at the University of South Carolina. She had previously worn AKA-inspired Nike LeBron 21 PEs before getting her own signature shoe.

The Minnesota Lynx decisively defeated the Las Vegas Aces with a final score of 109-78. Wilson recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in the loss. For the season, she is averaging 22.3 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game.

The Aces' next game is against the Dallas Wings at College Park Center on Sunday, July 27th, at 4:00 p.m. ET, broadcast on ESPN3.
