Country music star Wynonna Judd enthusiastically met the Indiana Fever basketball team ahead of their Sunday game against the Chicago Sky at the United Center. Fresh from a show in Indiana, Judd took photos and distributed hugs to the players. A video shared on social media captured Sophie Cunningham giving Judd a large hug, exclaiming "You are such a star," while Judd expressed her deep excitement, stating, "I don't get excited about a lot, but this is my absolute joy."
Judd later shared photos from the meeting on her Instagram story, captioning one picture featuring herself alongside Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, and Lexie Hull as "The quartet you didn't know you needed." A longtime Fever fan originally from Kentucky, Judd had eagerly anticipated the meeting. On Friday, she posted a photo wearing a custom, bedazzled Fever shirt featuring Caitlin Clark's number 22, captioned excitedly about supporting "MY GIRLSSS" and declaring she would be wearing the shirt all weekend.
However, Judd did not get to see Clark play in Sunday's game, as the reigning Rookie of the Year was sidelined with a groin injury sustained in June and re-aggravated recently. Chicago Sky's Angel Reese was also out due to a back injury. Despite the absences, the Fever secured a dominant 93-78 victory over the Sky. This win marked Indiana's third victory against Chicago this season, with two more games scheduled between the teams.
