Ginebra vs Converge, San Miguel vs NLEX start PBA playoffs on Christmas Day
The PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup quarterfinals will be held on Christmas Day, featuring two matchups. The first game at 5:15 p.m. pits the top-seeded defending champion San Miguel Beermen against the eighth-seeded NLEX Road Warriors. San Miguel, led by June Mar Fajardo, Cjay Perez, and Jericho Cruz, enters the playoffs on a nine-game winning streak and holds a twice-to-beat advantage. NLEX, which finished the elimination round with three consecutive losses, will rely on star guard Robert Bolick, who missed parts of the season due to personal reasons and national team duty.
The second game at 7:30 p.m. will see the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings face the Converge FiberXers. Despite being the lower seed, Ginebra carries momentum from a five-game winning streak. Converge, however, holds the twice-to-beat advantage in the matchup, having won two of its last three games. Both games will be played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
