PVL: Defense shines for Courtney Schwan after triple-double in Creamline’s win vs Nxled
Courtney Schwan showcased an all-around performance in Creamline's four-set victory over Nxled in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference, leading her team to a 20-25, 25-13, 25-16, 25-18 win on Thursday, November 6, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
Schwan achieved a rare triple-double with 14 points, 14 excellent digs, and 15 excellent receptions, marking her most well-rounded game of the conference so far, though she admitted feeling she wasn't at her sharpest during the match and expressed happiness that her statistics reflected a strong contribution.
Instead of forcing her offense, Schwan focused on her defensive game to help shift momentum after a slow first set, which allowed local players like Michele Gumabao and Pangs Panaga to shine with 13 and 12 points, respectively, as she emphasized finding alternative ways to support the team when scoring was challenging.
With this win, Creamline improved their record to 4-2 in the standings, moving closer to securing a quarterfinal berth in the tournament.
