Six-time La Liga winner has no intention of joining Tottenham, as huge wages prove tricky

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a potential replacement for Guglielmo Vicario, who has made errors this season. The German international, a six-time La Liga winner, has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona behind Joan Garcia.

However, journalist Dean Jones indicates significant obstacles to a January transfer. Ter Stegen's high wages are a major hurdle for Spurs, and the 33-year-old player himself is not particularly keen on a mid-season move, despite having no long-term future at Barcelona and a reported desire to play in the Premier League.

While Barcelona are actively trying to offload Ter Stegen to reduce their wage bill and had hoped for loan interest from the Premier League, no English club has made a concrete offer. Clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea, and West Ham are seen as potential destinations, but there is currently no active interest in signing the goalkeeper.
