Adamson dominates Ateneo to complete SSL Cebu leg sweep

The Adamson Lady Falcons swept the Ateneo team in three sets (25-15, 26-24, 25-14) to claim the championship title at the 2025 Shakey’s Super League National Invitationals Cebu Leg on Sunday night at the Mandaue Sports Complex. The victory marked a perfect three-game run for Adamson in the tournament.

Shaina Nitura, the team captain and an Alas Pilipinas veteran, led the Lady Falcons with a standout performance, scoring the final six points—including two service aces—to secure the win. She emphasized the team’s focused mindset and credited Coach JP Yude’s guidance for their success.

Nitura was named Best Player of the Visayas Leg after finishing the match with 23 points, comprising 15 kills, four blocks, and four aces. She had also delivered strong performances in earlier matches, scoring 28 points against the University of San Carlos and 15 against the University of Southern Philippines Foundation.

After a dominant first set, Adamson faced a tougher challenge in the second frame, where Ateneo briefly tied the score at 24-24. However, a service error by Ateneo’s Zey Pacia and an ace from Adamson’s Lhouriz Tuddao secured the set. Adamson controlled the third set comfortably, with Nitura closing the match on a six-point scoring run.
