A'ja Wilson, Josh Allen among 2025 ESPYS candidates; vote now

The 2025 ESPYS, presented by Capital One, will be held on July 16, and voting is open to help determine the winners of the show's major honors.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, fresh off an NBA championship where he earned regular-season MVP and Finals MVP, is nominated in two categories: Best Athlete - Men's Sports and Best NBA Player. His team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, is nominated for Best Team after winning Game 7 against the Indiana Pacers.

Several nominees received ESPYS nods for their performances at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics. Simone Biles and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone are nominated for Best Athlete - Women's Sports. Ilona Maher is nominated for Best Breakthrough Athlete, and Ezra Frech is nominated for Best Athlete with a Disability.

A'ja Wilson, the 2024 winner of Best Athlete - Women's Sports and Best WNBA Player, is nominated again in both categories. Saquon Barkley earned nominations in three categories: Best Athlete - Men's Sports, Best Play, and Best NFL Player. Josh Allen is the only other NFL player, besides Barkley, nominated for both Best NFL Player and Best Athlete - Men's Sports.

Viewers are encouraged to vote to help decide the ESPY winners. The show will air on July 16 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
