Cameron County Outdoor Youth Activities delivered 500 pheasant eggs to the Cameron County School District on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Eleven elementary school classrooms and one high school classroom are currently incubating the eggs. Third-grade students from Ben Porkolab's class distributed the eggs to the other participating classrooms.
The project received financial support from Seneca Resources and Tractor Supply of St. Marys. Penn State Extension 4-H is also involved in the initiative.
The young pheasants resulting from the incubated eggs are scheduled to be released into the wild during the upcoming fall season.
