The Los Angeles Dodgers will honor the late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant with a bobblehead giveaway for the first 40,000 fans attending their game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, August 8.
The unique bobblehead depicts Bryant in Lakers home attire (yellow jersey and shorts with a purple stripe) positioned in the batter's box at Dodger Stadium, wearing blue cleats. Its color scheme combines traditional Lakers and Dodgers colors.
The tribute recognizes Bryant's entire 20-year career with the Lakers (1996-97 to 2015-16), during which he won five NBA championships. His accolades include the 2007-08 NBA MVP award, two NBA Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 12 All-Defensive team honors, and 15 All-NBA selections. Bryant holds the Lakers franchise records for points (33,643 - 4th all-time in NBA/ABA history), 3-pointers (1,827), steals (1,944), and games played (1,346), and ranks second in assists (6,306).
The news also provides a brief update on both teams: the Dodgers currently possess the best record in the National League at 56-38, while the Lakers are coming off a first-round playoff exit against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
