Aron Cruickshank, a former Rutgers Scarlet Knights player, is achieving record-breaking success in the European League of Football (ELF) with the Madrid Bravos.
In Week 11, Cruickshank caught his 18th touchdown pass of the season, setting a new ELF single-season record.
Cruickshank is also close to breaking two more league records: his 1,456 receiving yards are 125 yards short of the single-season yardage record, and his 99 catches are 16 short of the single-season receptions record.
During his three-year career at Rutgers (starting in 2020), Cruickshank demonstrated versatility as a receiver, rusher, and kick returner. He led the Big Ten in kick returns in 2020 with 25 returns for 671 yards and two touchdowns (averaging 26.8 yards per return), earning him Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten honors.
After Rutgers, Cruickshank signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears but was later released. He then joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023 but was also let go, leading him to the ELF.
Rutgers fans are likely unsurprised by his record-setting ELF performances, as he is utilizing his multi-faceted skills to produce one of the best single seasons in the league's history.
