Golden State Warriors handed tough group in 2025-26 NBA Cup

The Golden State Warriors have been placed in West Group C of the 2025-26 NBA Emirates Cup alongside the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and San Antonio Spurs. The NBA officially announced these groupings on July 9th.

As part of the group stage schedule, the Warriors will host the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Conversely, they will travel to play road games against the Denver Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs.

While the Warriors' ultimate goal is winning the NBA championship, the NBA Cup games (excluding the final) contribute to the regular-season standings. Consequently, strong performances are expected from Golden State despite the challenging group.

The Warriors are considered to have a legitimate chance to advance deep into the tournament, provided the coaching staff prioritizes progress in the event. The Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural cup in the 2023-24 season, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks in the most recent season.
