Two-time Latin Grammy nominee Grupo Alamo has released a new studio album titled "Camino al Progreso". The nine-track album features Mark Ledesma on lead vocals.
The album includes collaborations such as Latin Grammy winner Juan Treviño on the cumbia "La Potranquita", Ernesto Gonzales singing a classic conjunto song, and sought-after Nashville musicians contributing to two English-style cumbias. Ernesto Gonzales highlighted the unique experience of working with musicians known for playing with artists like Reba McEntire and Martina McBride, noting the mutual enjoyment of exploring a new musical style.
"Camino al Progreso" was recorded and produced in both Nashville and San Antonio during the pandemic, with mixing done at Blackbird Studios in Nashville. Gonzales explained the album title originated three years prior, reflecting the band's continuous progression with each release. The pandemic added a deeper layer of meaning, symbolizing the need to move forward despite challenging circumstances.
The album features the new single "Confianza", a progressive keyboard-driven Tejano ranchera written by Percy Cardona and Juan Treviño, showcasing Grupo Alamo's classic style established since 1993.
The album is available for streaming or download on all digital music platforms, with CDs available for purchase at GrupoAlamo.net.
