The Phoenix Mercury's jersey number 24 has been worn by nine players since 1997, beginning with Molly Tuter, who had a brief stint with the team before being replaced. Mikiko Hagiwara acquired the number via trade from the Sacramento Monarchs in July 1997 and appeared in 22 games over two seasons before being waived in 1998.
Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil wore number 24 after being drafted by the Mercury in 1999, averaging 9.3 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14 games. Edwina Brown held the number in 2003, contributing 3.5 points per game across 34 appearances. Lisa Harrison, who initially wore number 3, returned in 2005 to adopt number 24, followed by Jennifer Derevjanik in 2007–2008.
DeWanna Bonner, drafted in 2009, became one of the most significant players to wear number 24, helping secure championships in 2009 and 2014 during her tenure from 2009 to 2019. Although she now wears a different number, she remains with the team. Currently, rookie Kathryn Westbeld holds the number and has performed well as a reserve and occasional starter in her debut season.
