Manchester City has announced an open training session titled 'City Are Back' as the official unveiling of the 2025/26 season for supporters. This follows a mixed 2024/25 campaign where the men's team finished without trophies, and aims to build excitement amidst significant summer signings and tactical changes.
The men's squad is returning to training at the City Football Academy, integrating new arrivals like Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Ait-Nouri while established players such as Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush prepare. Simultaneously, Manchester City Women are entering a new era under recently appointed head coach Andrée Jeglertz, who replaces Gareth Taylor.
The event will take place at the Joie Stadium on Tuesday, 5 August. Supporters are invited to watch both the Men’s and Women’s First Teams train. With the new Premier League season approaching and pre-season friendlies scheduled, including a match against Palermo, the club intends to reconnect with fans and re-establish the matchday atmosphere.
Fans will hear directly from new men's team signings, including Rayan Cherki. Newly appointed Women’s Head Coach Andrée Jeglertz will address the crowd for the first time, and Men’s First Team head coach Pep Guardiola is also expected to speak. The event will be hosted by Manchester City’s Match Day Live presenters.
Alongside the training sessions, a fan zone will offer activities for younger supporters, such as football skill challenges, photo opportunities with mascots, and face painting. Live entertainment, music from the club's resident DJs, and a performance by the Paul Hand Band will also be part of the day.
