Richmond’s First ‘Mobile Vendor Plaza’ Opens for Business

The first Mobile Vendor Plaza launched in a Downtown Richmond parking lot on September 21, offering diverse food options and signaling plans for additional similar markets.

Located at 1401 Macdonald Ave. near the BART parking garage, the market will operate every Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., featuring tacos, pupusas, sandwiches, and refreshing drinks.

Announced in August through a partnership between the City of Richmond and Richmond Farmers Market, this initiative is the inaugural event of the Mobile Vendor Program. The program creates regulated spaces for sidewalk vendors to conduct business.

Vendors may participate for free but must hold a Special Business Activity Permit from the City. Program details are available on the city's official website.
