Jack Grealish is close to joining Everton this summer on an initial season-long loan deal from Manchester City. The agreement includes an option for Everton to buy him for £50 million next summer.
Grealish aims to revive his career after falling out of favour under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, with the goal of returning to the England national team ahead of next summer's World Cup. He previously rose to prominence at Aston Villa, helping them win promotion to the Premier League in 2019 and then keeping them up the following season.
His performances at Villa attracted significant interest from top Premier League clubs, but he chose to stay an extra year to help Villa establish themselves in mid-table. During that season, his admirers grew, including Everton legends Kevin Campbell, Duncan Ferguson, and Tim Howard.
Ferguson praised Grealish's flair and creativity, calling him a "real threat" who can take on defenders. Campbell highlighted him as "one of the best dribblers in the Premier League" who makes things happen. Howard noted his ability to "turn a game on its head," explaining the interest from big clubs.
Grealish has struggled at Manchester City due to injuries, poor form, and a restricted playing style under Guardiola. A move to Everton is seen as an opportunity to reignite his maverick style and unlock his true potential within Everton's fluid attack.
The path to revival is considered clear for Grealish at Goodison Park, following the example of Iliman Ndiaye's success there last season, and it is now up to him to seize the opportunity.
