Tina Charles of the Connecticut Sun has become the WNBA's all-time leader in field goals made, surpassing Phoenix Mercury legend Diana Taurasi's previous record of 3,341 field goals. This milestone was achieved during the Sun's game against the Chicago Sky.
At 36 years old, Charles continues to excel, averaging 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during her brief stint with the Mercury in 2022. Her accomplishment highlights not only her individual talent but also the Mercury's strong presence in league records.
Other notable players on the all-time field goals list include Candice Dupree in fourth place with 2,842 field goals, Seattle Storm's Nneka Ogwumike ahead of her, and DeWanna Bonner following with over 2,500 field goals, just behind Tina Thompson's 2,630. Bonner, a Mercury veteran, has earned multiple individual awards, including three Sixth Woman of the Year honors, and championships in 2009 and 2014.
After being traded from the Mercury to the Sun before the 2020 season, Bonner played for the Sun until 2024, briefly joined the Indiana Fever, and returned to the Mercury as a top bench player. Her scoring prowess and longevity have cemented her place among the league's elite, contributing to both franchise and league-wide records.
