The 2025 NCAA DIII softball tournament's 64-team field was announced on May 12 via a selection show on NCAA.com. Teams were selected through two pools: automatic qualifiers from conference tournament titles and at-large berths. The tournament begins with regional matchups on Thursday, May 15, and concludes with the finals on Wednesday, June 4, at Inspiration Field in Bloomington, IL. The DIII softball national championship has been held since 1982. Eastern Connecticut State won the inaugural title over TCNJ with an undefeated finals series. East Texas Baptist most recently claimed the 2024 championship, defeating Belhaven 9-5, marking their second title in program history (first since 2010).
