The Las Vegas Aces extended their winning streak to eight games with a narrow 74-72 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Tuesday night. The closely contested match saw the Aces overcome a fourth-quarter deficit, with A'ja Wilson leading the team by scoring 32 points, along with 12 rebounds, five blocks, and four assists. Jackie Young contributed 16 points, while Chelsea Gray added eight.
This win improved the Aces' position to No. 3 in the Western Conference and tied them for No. 4 in the overall WNBA standings. The game also marked the team's 44th consecutive sold-out home game.
A'ja Wilson achieved multiple historic milestones during the game. She became the fastest and youngest player in WNBA history to reach 2,000 made field goals, accomplishing this in just 259 games at 29 years and 11 days old, surpassing previous records held by Tina Charles and Lauren Jackson. Wilson also became the 24th player to score 5,500 points, doing so faster and at a younger age than Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, and Jackson. Additionally, she is now the 15th player with at least 5,500 points and 1,200 rebounds, and her 116th career double-double moved her into fifth place all-time, breaking a tie with Nneka Ogwumike.
