Ben White has expressed a desire to return to the England national team and would have been included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the September international break, but an injury has ruled him out of selection.
The same injury is expected to keep White out of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Liverpool on Sunday. However, Arsenal will likely have Jurrien Timber available for that game, and Cristhian Mosquera has also demonstrated he can cover the right-hand side.
White initially played 71 minutes in Arsenal’s opening competitive match against Manchester United but was substituted earlier than planned after picking up the injury. He subsequently missed Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Leeds United and is expected to also be absent for the Liverpool fixture.
On a positive note, the international break provides White an opportunity to recover before Arsenal’s next match against Nottingham Forest on September 13th. September presents a busy schedule for Arsenal, including three Premier League games, a League Cup match away at Port Vale, and two Champions League fixtures, offering White ample chances to regain match fitness upon his return.
As a result, it may be beneficial for the full-back to rest now to ensure he is available for the demanding period ahead next month.
