Barcelona, Tottenham, Newcastle set for preseason matches in S. Korea

European football fans in South Korea are set to experience exciting preseason matches as three prominent clubs visit the country this week. The action begins with Newcastle United, current English Football League Cup holders, facing Team K League (a South Korean league All-Stars selection) at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Suwon World Cup Stadium, located 30 kilometers south of Seoul.

This match initiates the annual Coupang Play Series, organized by the South Korean streaming platform that hosts European clubs each summer. Newcastle will then compete against Tottenham Hotspur at 8 p.m. Sunday in Seoul World Cup Stadium. Tottenham, recently crowned 2024-2025 UEFA Europa League champions, are captained by South Korean star Son Heung-min.
