Bills' Josh Allen headlines heavy NFL presence at American Century Championship

The 2025 American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament takes place from July 11-13 in South Lake Tahoe, featuring numerous NFL players. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen participates for the fourth consecutive year, aiming to improve on his 20th-place finish in 2024 where he scored 39 points under the Modified Stableford format.

The event includes a strong NFL quarterback presence with active players like Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Trevor Lawrence, alongside retired stars including Derek Carr, Tony Romo, and Joe Theismann. Overall, 90 celebrities from sports, entertainment, and broadcasting are competing.

Allen announced his participation in February via a sponsored Instagram post. He is grouped with fellow 2018 NFL Draft picks Mayfield and Darnold for Friday's opening round, teeing off at 9:15 a.m. local time. Vince Carter, new minority owner of the Bills and retired NBA star, will compete alongside Grant Hill and Ray Allen at 8:39 a.m. Friday.

Pro Football Hall of Famers participating include Charles Woodson, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, and DeMarcus Ware. Active non-quarterback NFL players in the field feature George Kittle, Travis Kelce, Davante Adams, and Adam Thielen.

The tournament offers a $750,000 purse, with Peacock streaming all rounds live. NBC will broadcast coverage on Saturday and Sunday.
