The Kansas City Chiefs have improved their season record to 5-3 after winning three consecutive games and five of their last six, indicating a return to form as they get healthier. However, the team still requires upgrades, particularly in the running back position, where Isiah Pacheco has been ineffective and is now dealing with a week-to-week MCL injury ahead of their game against the Buffalo Bills.
Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon predicts that the Chiefs will address this need by acquiring running back Breece Hall from the New York Jets before the NFL trade deadline. Gagnon suggests that Hall, a pending free agent, could be traded as the Jets focus on other priorities, while the Chiefs seek to bolster their offensive backfield. However, Gagnon's proposal of a "late-round pick" in return is considered unrealistic, with most experts expecting the Jets to demand at least a third-round draft pick for Hall.
Breece Hall has demonstrated strong performance in the 2025 season, accumulating 581 rushing yards and two touchdowns at an average of five yards per carry, along with 21 receptions for 178 yards over eight games. In a recent victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, he rushed for 133 yards and scored two touchdowns. Although Hall has never surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in his career since being drafted in 2022, coming close with 994 yards in 2023, he is well-positioned to achieve that milestone this year.
