Tatum's return to Cameron Indoor Stadium highlighted the Brotherhood spirit, and Coach Jon Scheyer indicated that Tatum will be assisting Duke this year, though the exact role is unclear.

The scrimmage was the highlight of the night, with the White team comprising Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr, Iffy Ufochukwu, and Darren Harris, while the Blue team included Caleb Foster, Isaiah Evans, Patrick Ngongba II, Sebastian Wilkins, and Nikolas Khamenia. The more experienced Blue team won 34-24, with defense outperforming offense, which was noted as a positive aspect.
