Spurs teammate Jeremy Sochan played into the joke by commenting on the post, asking Wembanyama if he had switched to professional football.

Although Wembanyama is not a professional soccer player, his passion for the sport is well-documented; he actively supports Paris Saint-Germain and participates in casual games. It is noted that he might have pursued soccer professionally if not for his basketball success.
