The Kansas City Chiefs are reintroducing their limited-edition Red Friday flags, a fan tradition for 12 years. This year's flag features a phrase from Head Coach Andy Reid. All proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.
The flags will be available first through an online-only presale on the Chiefs shop website via Fanatics. This presale runs from August 7 at 10 a.m. until August 11 at 11:59 p.m., or while supplies last.
General sales begin on Friday, September 5. Flags will be sold at Kansas City metro-area McDonald’s locations and online. This date coincides with the Chiefs' first regular-season game against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The flag sale is part of the Chiefs' larger season kickoff celebrations. These include a 5K, preseason games, and the debut of ESPN's "The Kingdom" documentary. Chiefs President Mark Donovan emphasized the event brings fans together "here at home and around the world" to celebrate the start of football season. The Chiefs' home opener is scheduled for September 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
